Ten
Commandments
"Behold, I set before you
this day a blessing and a curse; [27] A blessing, if ye obey the
commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day:
[28] And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord
your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this
day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known." Deut. 11:26-28
It was a long time
ago...different times and societies. thought differs greatly from
the thoughts of those who witnessed the power of their deliverer:
the Ancient of days. The passing of time has diminished our
understanding of these simple principles our world's societies
were built upon. We have forgotten not only the letter of the Law,
but we have also replaced the Spirit of the Law with one of our
own making and another source, another god.
We provide this page as a
source of reference for you. Of the 613 commandments Adonai
gave to us, these are the ten commandments that God's own finger
carved into the stone tablets which Moses carried down Mt. Sinai, to
give as a gift to the Jewish people. Other commandments are
included afterward. Study these things that you may better
understand the will of Adonai in your life.
Each of these commandments
is alive and contains the Spirit of the Living Lord Who wrote it.
Even as the Creator spoke creation into existence, His words in
these commandments retain the life and power of His Holy Spirit to
work in your life, to bring about the changes you need to make which
will allow you to draw closer to His
Presence.
Matthew
22:36-40 Master, which is the
great commandment in the law? [37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment.
[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the
prophets.
There is power in the words
of God. These words are the simple foundation we are to build our
lives upon.
The
Ten Commandments
1.) I AM the Lord
your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the
house of bondage...
2.) You shall
have NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME...
3.) You shall not
take the Name of the Lord your God in
vain...
4.) Remember the
Sabbath Day to keep it Holy...
5.) Honor your father
and your mother...
6.) You shall not
murder.
7.) You shall not
commit adultery.
8.) You shall not
steal.
9.) You shall not
bear false witness against your neighbor.
10.) You shall not
covet...
Exodus
31:12-18
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
[13] Speak thou
also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye
shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your
generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify
you.
[14] Ye shall
keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that
defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any
work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
[15] Six days
may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to
the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall
surely be put to death.
[16] Wherefore
the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the
sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
[17] It is a
sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days
the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested,
and was refreshed.
[18] And he
gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon
mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
TORAH 101
The Creator who placed the
stars in the heavens, who wrote the Universal
Law, and
wrote His law and commandments on stone tablets: He sets
the rules. No matter what we think, how much we protest and proclaim
heritage from apes, it won't change the fact that we are the
deliberate creation of a Celestial Being.
Genesis
1:1 In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis
1:26 And God said, Let us make
man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the
cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth.
John
1:1-4 In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were
made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
The
Divine Guide Book - Torah
The story is surrealistic:
The Creator of the heavens chose a specific people to give His
Universal Law and commandments to, in the middle of a desert
wilderness, from atop a mountain called Sinai. The Torah contains
the five books detailing this amazing historical story and
record.
Exodus
24:9-12 Then went up Moses,
and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:
[10] And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as
it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of
heaven in his clearness. [11] And upon the nobles of the children of
Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and
drink. [12] And the Lord said unto Moses,
Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee
tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written;
that thou mayest teach them.
Exodus
24:16-17 And the
glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it
six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst
of the cloud. [17] And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like
devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children
of Israel.
Exodus
31:18 And he gave unto
Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount
Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the
finger of God.
The Creator selected a group
of people from all the peoples on the earth, with whom to
establish a priesthood, through which He gave His Law and
commandments to the world, and would communicate His will. This
people, the Jewish people were and are to serve their God in
obedience to that which was given and shown to them upon the
mountain, by His own hand and Words. The Jewish
people were chosen to be priests for the world,
giving instructions to the nations in the observance of the
Creator's Law.
These children of Israel are
the Jewish people. With the redemption through Yeshua, Jesus Christ
the Gentiles are now grafted-in to that vine, and share the
responsibility
The frailty of our human
nature and the devices of the wicked led to the destruction of
God's Temple in Jerusalem, on Mount Moriah, where the Islamic
Dome of the Rock now stands. The great nation which possessed
the Torah, the Word of God, was scattered among the nations
until the re-establishment of the State of Israel, on May 14, 1948.
The rebirth of Israel was through a wall of fire and
resistance from almost every nation on earth. Only a
few nations allied themselves with the tiny newborn nation as
they struggled to remain alive. Again the hand of Adonai, the God of
Israel stretched forth and provided protection for His
people.
The Divine Prime Directive
Our Creator endowed us with
the gift of free will for His purposes, and He won't go against the
conscious choices we make. Even though He has given us His Laws to
live by, He won't force us to do anything we don't want to do. Our
Creator has a prime directive of non-interference. It is for this
reason that He doesn't interfere in our lives. He knows that it is
only through true freedom that a person will turn to Him and love
Him. So, He patiently waits for us to act: to call on Him, to seek
Him, to humble ourselves before Him, to accept Him as our Lord and
Saviour.
We have to make the first
move toward Him in order to give Him the opportunity to intercede in
our lives. Though He may continue to bless us through our lives,
even if we never turn to Him, we will never have that spiritual
re-birth and joyous revelation of His existence, until we call upon
Him, to ask Him into our lives. At that very moment, we are
spiritually reborn, becoming part of His family, entering into the
community of His people; and we are given the free gift of eternal
life through Yeshua's intercession. (Path of
Freedom)
School of Hard Knocks - Elementary
School
When we reach the age of
accountability, if we don't have any learning problems
which would inhibit our reasonable understanding and
comprehension, we are considered to be responsible for
every choice we make, right or wrong. The consequences
of our actions become evident as mistakes are made and lessons
learned.
Our lives are
much like a school of hard knocks. Sometimes we just won't slow down
and listen to the experienced voice of reason and wisdom...we don't
have time for that. So what happens? We end up hitting our heads
against the reality of life. Add the multi-dimensional aspect of our
tri-part being: body, soul and spirit, and life becomes more than we
bargained for. Life becomes overwhelming, even unto
death.
Our Creator, the Lover
of our souls, knew what we would need, so He provided His
Words to guide us and teach us His ways - how we can live our
lives without the unnecessary burdens of this world.
The choice is always yours to make, whether you will choose to
accept the Lord Yeshua, Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour or
not. Even not choosing is making a choice.
The following verses are also offered
for your consideration:
Joshua
1:8 This book of the
law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate
therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to
all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way
prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Joshua
24:15 And if it seem evil
unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other
side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye
dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Joshua
22:5 But take diligent heed
to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the
Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his
ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to
serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
2 Kings
17:37 And the
statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment,

Isaiah
2:3 And many people shall go and
say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the
house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we
will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and
the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Matthew
5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the
prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. [18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven
and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the
law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew
7:12 Therefore all things
whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to
them: for this is the law and the
prophets.
Luke
24:44 And he said
unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was
yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled,
which were written in the law of Moses,

John
1:17 For the
law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus
Christ.
Acts
24:14 But this I
confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all
things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
Romans
7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy,
and just, and good.
Galatians
3:23-24 But before
faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which
should afterwards be revealed. [24] Wherefore
the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might
be justified by faith.

Simply
Stated...
It is
not our intention to be contentious. We only want to offer you the
challenge to study for yourself what the Bible contains, and not
just accept a word of mouth version of the Truth. Yeshua's grace
through the shedding of His death allows us the liberty to approach
the throne of Adonai, in His Name and receive the redemption of our
sins. Salvation is not in that which we eat or drink; it is the FREE
gift we have been offered through Yeshua's self-sacrifice,
and in the acceptance of the perfect Word of
Adonai.
Our
goals are to help you improve your life by enriching it with
Adonai's Words, and helping you back toward the hope of something so
much greater than this worldly existence: a great celestial glory
which we refer to as our "Heavenly Home."
Luke
16:16-17 The law and the prophets were until John: since
that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth
into it. [17] And it is easier for heaven and
earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
Joshua
24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether
the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of
the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house, we will serve
the Lord.

2 Tim.
2:24-26 ...the servant of
the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach,
patient, [25] In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;
if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging
of the truth; [26] And that they may recover themselves out of the
snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his
will.
